2 Fandom Related Questions:

1) Does anyone know of fandoms wherein fans identify themselves using gendered language? (besides Bronies and Pegasisters?)

2) Does anyone know of any MSCL fan communities/fans that were/are centered particularly around queerness? I have an academic friend trying to write about Rickie Vasquez and since I was a 12 year old girl when I was in the original MSCL fandom, I wasn't really aware of that part of it at the time.

Don't know anything about (2), but as for (1), "fangirl" and "fanboy" seem to get tossed around a lot. Nothing more specific is really coming to my mind, but I'm probably overlooking about a thousand things...

Yeah, fanboy/girl is a common general one, but I'm trying to find certain fandom-specific labels. Thanks for the thought, let me know if anything else pops into your mind! :)

Can "Cumberbitches" ever be boys?

Hmm, I wonder if there's been a boy-specific version of that developed yet. I'll look into it and run it past my friend, thanks for the suggestion!

In this interview, Benedict discusses some other options, including "Cumberbuddies" and "Cumberbabes." I doubt either of them will catch on!
